Frequently Asked Questions
We have experienced Pro Players, College All-Americans, College Coaches, and Top High School Directors running our camps, sitting on our advisory board, and continuing to come up with the latest instruction and drills. We have decades of experience building high-quality youth camps.
Our model is built around local instructors, small groups, fast-paced drills, and teaching fundamentals the right way. Every camp is designed to be affordable, organized, and run by coaches who know how to develop young athletes.
Softball Nation Camps host camp events in multiple states with new cities added every year. Use our Find a Camp page to locate the closest event.
We begin running camps in the summer, beginning as soon as schools dismiss for break.
Each camp location runs Monday through Thursday, with Friday reserved as a makeup day if weather or facility issues require it.
Players typically arrive for camp between 8:30-9:00 a.m., depending on the location. Camp wraps up each day by 3:00 p.m., giving athletes a full six-hour day of high-energy instruction and training.
This structure allows players to enjoy a complete camp experience filled with movement, reps, teaching, and fun!
Every camp covers the core fundamentals of:
Hitting
Fielding (infield & outfield)
Throwing
Pitching
Baserunning
Players can participate in the skills they choose. Our camps are skill-progressive, meaning each day builds on the previous one.
For example, in hitting:
Day 1: Lower-half movement & balance
Day 2: Upper-body mechanics
Day 3: Sequencing, timing, and connection
Day 4: Live reps, application, and fun competitive drills
This approach ensures players improve steadily and finish the week with stronger fundamentals and a deeper understanding of their chosen skills.
All registered players attend camp during the same overall time window, but athletes are grouped by age and skill level to ensure they train at the right pace and with players of similar ability.
We have athletes ranging from 7–14 years old, and we divide groups into natural age brackets such as:
7–8 year olds
9–10 year olds
11–12 year olds
13–14 year olds
These groups keep instruction targeted and appropriate, while still allowing flexibility. For example, if a player’s skill level suggests they would benefit from a more advanced group (a 12-year-old joining the 13–14 group), we will make that adjustment to give them the best learning experience.
Camps do have strong turnout, but small-group instruction is a priority. If we add players, we always add staff. Groups are kept to smaller group ratios matched by age and ability.
Quality of instruction and experience is our #1 priority.
Each group station has a coach (and an assistant) to ensure constant reps and that athletes are engaged, having fun, and learning the entire time. Over the course of the camp, players work through skills in a fun, progressive format packed with reps, coaching feedback, and movement.
Find your camp location and complete registration online. Camps do fill quickly, so once spots are full, we close registration to protect the player-to-coach ratio.
We offer limited-time discounts throughout the year. Check registration details for current offers.
All players need to bring:
Bat
Glove
Helmet
Add'l equipment players may want to use during camp (ie. Batting Gloves, etc.)
Water Bottle and Lunch (Lunch is NOT provided. Players are responsible for bringing their own lunch and water bottle)
Camps are held on dirt and/or turf fields depending on location.
Appropriate footwear are tennis shoes, turf shoes, or rubber/molded cleats. No metal cleats should be worn.
Players should wear athletic gear such as a t-shirt with shorts/sweats/softball pants.
We’re only contracted to use each facility on specific dates, so makeups aren’t possible if a player misses a day of camp. However, missing a session doesn’t prevent players from jumping back in. Our system is built for kids to pick up right where they left off.
For outdoor camps, we do have a rain date built into our camp schedule for weather related issues. We also have weather contingency plans in place for each camp.
